Ahmed Jahi McLendon

Ahmed Jahi McLendon is a filmmaker and editor from Forestville, MD. Currently, he is a senior at Bowie State University, seeking a Bachelor of Science in Visual Communication and Digital Media Arts with a concentration in Digital Cinema and Time-Based Media. As an artist, he aims to create content that will inspire and entertain others through his use of combining deep visuals and music to create new and thought-provoking messages. Despite being diagnosed with autism, Ahmed’s work challenges and defies the unjust stigmas often associated with autistic creatives, through his analysis of cinema and storytelling. Despite having difficulties under pressure, Ahmed always looks to hold a very active and expressive personality. He is also very collaborative and is open to working with others. He always looks to push himself to higher limits and to display leadership skills. Aside from obtaining his degree, his ultimate goal is to have his own film studio. His career emphasizes how autistic creatives can be financially independent working within their chosen fields.
